BIO
The artistic path of N.Ray started with film photography
at the age of 12 and went through fashion photography, digital collages
and video art to create immersive installations using generative graphics and VR performances.
N.Ray's artistic method is based on the creation of digital video landscapes with live streaming onto a projected surface. In his practice, he works with 3D photography, 360 video, motion graphics and neural networks. The artist paints in virtual reality using audio-active dynamic and volumetric brushes, creating a digital landscape and live performance in real time at events. The virtual reality space is becoming an ideal field for studying the phenomena of the human psyche: the sense of time, the influence of the material world and the body in it, mediated by the senses.

Education:
2011 - 2016 Bachelor's degree in Psychology
2022- 2023 diploma in Motion Design, qualification "Visual Effects Artist"
Laboratory participant: Dmitry Vrubel, METAXIS, Culture 360, Digital Autumn, LNM TouchDesigner.

Using digital immersive technologies, I create experimental spaces for deconstructing imposed narratives and ideologies. My works allow the viewer to experience a new experience and realize the boundary between autonomous consciousness and external programming.

MNEMOSYNE

MNEMOSYNE | Olfactory Module
2026
The project explores aromas and the sense of smell in a dystopian future — where the technological dominates the organic.
An astronaut leaves Earth to explore new territories. The only thing he takes aboard the ship is a tiny forget-me-not flower in a sealed capsule with a self-contained life-support system. After many years, the flower still evokes the abandoned planet, but its delicate scent has irreversibly changed in space: it has blended with the smells of the body, space dust, and the ship's machinery.
“The "Mnemosyne" Olfactory Module” sounds like an official data storage system. Yet its true function is to store memory through scent — and to remind us how fragile that memory is.
Touching the virtual flower in VR becomes an act of remembrance. The viewer may perceive this interaction as the image of an abandoned blue planet, or as the feeling of a long journey through meteor fields and starry emptiness. Alternatively, it may feel like something deeply personal and intimate within themselves. Communication between the flower and the viewer in VR operates through four channels: 3d image, touch, sound, and scent.
Interaction process:
  • Place the VR headset over your face.
  • Reach out toward the flower and touch it (at this moment, the flower will grow and release a floral scent).
  • Pull your hand away and touch it again (at this moment, the stardust around the flower will increase, and the scent of the space module and smoke will fill the space).
  • After each visitor, the flower needs two minutes to recover.

POLYSAD

POLYSAD
2024
The project is based on the image of a front garden, which is simple at first glance and understandable to any post-Soviet person. However, any modest plot of land in front of the house is a full-fledged anthropological artifact. This liminal space is a place where the public intersects with the individual and becomes a kind of manifesto of a particular family or residents of the house. Through the choice of plants, fences and decorations for the garden, people unconsciously represent their values and understanding of beauty, turning the front garden into a living cultural archive. In collaboration with Vlad Lisitsky, each pulse of the synthesizer comes to life through the movement of the artist's body with jet brush strokes, creating a hybrid landscape where memory is intertwined with modern technology. The artist doesn't just paint, but rather plants a digital garden, where pixels replace seeds, and gestures become an act of heritage preservation.

Multi-instrumentalist Vlad Lisitsky is a solo live IDM artist , in which he creates his chaotic, abstract electronics, tirelessly experimenting with sound textures and rhythms. This is a rather complex and disturbing sound, which in each of its tracks carries a set of intangible associations and images.

FATALE

FATALE
2025
The project reveals the modern myth of the human body as a living computer, where thoughts become data and emotions become color signals. In this situation, digital painting turns into a ritual, making invisible biological processes tangible and emphasizing the fragility of the human internal energy system.
Every sensation, thought, and image are encoded impulses of a neural network.
Inside the virtual space, the media artist himself becomes the source of these neurophysiological processes. Using an audio-reactive brush, he translates the soundscape's sound frequencies into a visible element of the digital universe.

TEMPORALITY

TEMPORALITY
2025
The project explores the illusion of human control over time through digital experience. The installation visualizes a space where there is no linear temporality. With their movements, the viewer can slow down or accelerate dynamic color spots that resemble the blurred vision of a baby or an old man. Work turns into a kind of digital vanitas: a person interacts with the environment, but after he leaves, the algorithms return to an autonomous rhythm, emphasizing the futility of trying to tame time. The sound score of water droplets enhances the feeling of fluidity, referring to the natural philosophy of Heraclitus.
The installation creates conditions for reflection: is it possible to gain subjectivity in a world where we are only fleeting fluctuations within an infinite system of the universe? "Temporality" calls for putting aside the clock and experiencing the experience here and now: not through acceleration or deceleration, but through awareness of oneself as part of an eternal natural cycle.
